THE BIGGER PICTURE
Malacia finally made an appearance in training again during the summer and coach Erik ten Hag said last month that he was "progressing really well", and now reports that he is in full training and almost fit once again. He is on schedule to return to the field before the end of October.

DID YOU KNOW?
The 25-year-old managed 39 appearances for the Old Trafford club in all competitions in his debut season in England, 29 of which were as a starter. The Feyenoord academy graduate has featured nine times for Netherlands.

While United's game against Brentford on Saturday likely comes too soon for Malacia, he will hope to get a run out for Ten Hag's team for the first time in 18 months before long.
